Interesting pic to me. Some of the equipment looks almost crude (brake levers) in comparison to other items (brake calipers).

But what I am really curious about is cycling caps. Why were they worn? Who "invented" them? I could maybe see wearing them on cold days, but they are worn on hot days in many instances. Did they really serve a function? I wore one a few times in my younger days "just because" but cannot say I thought it offered any advantage other than to add to the illusion that I knew what I was doing. LOL.
