I feel fairly sure that Dave Marsh, who as many of you know worked, at the Carlton / Raleigh Worksop factory, told me that, as Mick Butler says, the Capella lugs were introduced late in the life of Carltons in the late 50s. At that time they were hand cut as required, but when Raleigh started to use them a few months after their Carlton take-over they were machine press cut by the thousand, and so it is likely that they were available to be used on many models in the Raleigh Carlton ranges. Dave is away racing in Majorca at the moment, but I will check the information with him when he comes back.
