In 1975, low / small, take your pick, hubs were more expensive than large/hi flange hubs at the shop I worked at. If it was Italian, it came with small flange. Almost everything else arrived with large flange.

By 1975, the racers wanted small flange, it was like the pro's. Save for the track.

Today, those large flange hubs seem to be hiding.

Campagnolo used the terms piccolo and grande
