Hey Lug Sniffers,

Call me vague but I think the most important things for On-topic bikes started way back ..... pneumatic tyres and the "double diamond" steel frame is about as good as it gets for raising the bar. The rest was bound to happen as it did.

For me, I think the internet has been profound in the way I have learnt, understood and improved my appreciation for the good stuff. Before the internet I only knew what I saw or what mates rode and was full of "old wives tales" about bike lore and history.

Seeing that Im about a hundred years younger than most of you cats Im glad to be able to tap into resources like this and that to me is an innovation. Frankly, without the web and places like this the appreciation of the beauty and elegance of classic bicycles would all but vanish. This stuff trickles through and like it or not generations born post 1983 now carry the love in their hearts. That's innovation.

Already, there are people here who shudder when they here me speak of Pergolizzi. The room goes quiet, chicks sweat ... me too. They may be half a world away but they know he coulda easily been a movie star but respect that he devoted his great gams (sans socks) to muscle every inch of speed in a style that Prospect Park has never seen. So, Giantindaro, where's them freakin' BVVW jerseys ????? Natives here start doubting I actually met you .... ;)

Ciao
