Oh yes, I remember those. The "TREK" lettering was actually cast into the shell, not engraved. The TSI58 designation means it was designed for a 58cm frame; there were two others for 52cm and 62 cm as well. Saved some bother having to cold set them for the extreme frame sizes. Does it have the old VW split windshield cutouts on the down and seat tube sockets? :-)

AFAIK, Trek never sold those separately, although it's quite possible that samples were passed around at trade shows and such. BTW, they were made by Signicast in Milwaukee for Trek and were pretty nicely done. The one issue I had with them was that the cable channels on the bottom were so long (and the front one has that big curve) that you have to keep cleaning that area or the cables will not slide well. IIRC, we did a recessed channel rather than a raised tubular guide so the bikes could be used on trainers that supported the bike by resting on the BB shell.
