"Hi All, As I recall when is was in the British Army in the mid '50's, som e of the NCO's and in particular those connected to the Regimental Police ha d knuckles that trailed on the ground. "

Ah, yes.. short legs and long "trunks" and arms.. which is also It alian and explains why a lot of folks, including my mother, couldn't ever be comfortable at the wheel of an Alfa Romeo! Now, of course, I know we live in an global village and everyone is the same and one mustn't make sterotypes, blah, blah, blah, but ask any tailor and he'll sum up the national traits in the cut of a suit and popular sizes in a split second.

As will, I trust, a frame builder.

Then again, how did the British manage riding those epic-sized 24" (and indeed 26"!) framed roadsters with 28" wheels?? Gingerly might be the answer.
