Rich,

Standard pop rivets will work to reattach the badge, just make sure you get a rivet with the correct size shank to fit into the hole. Since the head is too big on a standard rivit that size, reduce the diameter of th e head on a belt sander (or whatever) and retaper the edge and there you go. You can repolish or sand the top also to smooth up the grinding, be fore you reinstall them. You can drill out from the front (I do it by ho lding the drill bit in my hand and twisting as opposed to drilling since it's easy to drill the hole all the way through the tube) or as John sa id, chisel off from the rear. Sometimes if you try the drilling method t he rivet will spin, in which case chisel is the next step.

Can you offer any tips/suggestions about removing and then re installing

the metal Raleigh headbadges from a 1969 frame ?

My thoughts are to carefully drill out the rivet - and then just HOPE

that these tiny rivets are still available somewhere ??

The badge is in pretty good shape - may try to touch up a spot where the

paint flaked off with paint

Thanks in advance for any thoughts.
