As long as you are not going to make them for resale, there really are no problems with recreating the decals for your bicycle, specially of that vintage. Also, as long as the bicycle is actually what you are branding it, there will be no question of "fraud" upon its resale. As far as making them for others, there really isn't much to worry about there either. If someone holds the trademark for LeJeune in the USA, they may have an issue with it. But seriously: If you didn't make any profit, there is no reason to go after you (legally), and a court fight regarding the trademark really wouldn't be worth it.

No worries!

I am getting a bit of a wild hair so I have some questions perhaps that can be answered by our members.

I am considering collaborating with my son and making decals for my Lejeune. I am referring to what I will call, for the lack of the correct term, Champ du Monde decals such as appear on the track bike frame on the CR Lejeune site. This is all very early stage, but might there be interest in these beyond myself? What implications might there be as far as copyright and or trademark. Lejeune is gone, is it not? I see repros of 531 and Columbus offered. They are still around and somehow I doubt that any royalties are being paid. Is this going to be a case of make a set for me and don't do any more than that?

Thanks
