That's being very kind. While this low-end bike (from about the mid-1980s, not 1978) is actually pretty decent-looking, most of his eBay stuff usually looks like the product of dumpster-diving and/or Police auctions, but is always described as pure gold, "Texas tea." Even for the hype-o-rama that is eBay, his hype is usually way over the top! Take a quick look at his FB before considering purchasing anything, though.... This seller regularly overestimates the value of his items and loves to embellish on stuff. I have wanted to stop by his store, but have never done so. He seems to have a plethora of middle-of-the-road vintage bicycles....

I guess what I loved best about the Trek auction is that the seller really seems to believe his own yarn.... Even this absurd assertion:

"This was long before the days of mass marketing."

Ummm, sure, it was made in the 5th century BC.

I suppose that having built up countless Treks of this vintage, I know just how un-special these bikes are, especially when compared to, say, an actual Campagnolo-equipped 1978 Trek.
