Hmmm. Well, I guess the question of ethics and the seller's integrity is easily answered by the question: "Would these hoods sell for $69. -79. if the buyers knew that they were reproductions?"

The seller, if these are in fact repop hoods, is attempting to deceive by purposeful omission and hoping by doing, that that buyers will assume that the hoods are original and genuine and pay the inflated price.

Another question is, will the seller answer inquiries as to the hoods authenticity?

Finally, how does anyone know the quality level if it's a reproduction? The Campy quality is certainly a known factor (For better or worse) How does one know that, after paying $80 pair, if they might melt away in 6 weeks?

Obviously the seller, given the legal climate, couldn't explicitly state that the hoods are repros or originals, just as the sellers of repro decals generally won't. They are what they are, take them or leave them. If the quality and the price are up to the buyer's standard and no one is being lied to I see no harm- particularly as Campagnolo have no interest in servicing this market with their own product and their interests in preventing their sale are strictly on the narrowest legalistic copyright issues that have nothing whatever to do with unfair competition in the marketplace. While perhaps illegal I see nothing unethical in it, the two o f course being only distantly related...
