The SuperCourse should be British thread and the Gran Prix Raleigh (26tpi) threading. see: http://sheldonbrown.com/raleigh26.html

My 78 SuperCourse is British thread, my 78 Super Grand Prix is Raleigh threaded.

*Note: If that "late 70's Raleigh Super Course" has an SR brand crank it will have an odd 118mm bolt pattern and be hard to find chainrings for.
