Subject: [CR]Removing Anodisation from rims with oven cleaner?

Hello All,

Has anyone sucessfully removed the anodisation from rims with oven cleaner?

Are there any structural issues involved that would affect the rims integrety or does oven cleaner just effect the supefical thin anodised layer??

Unfortunately, no one makes a polished 650B rim, so in order retain some esthetic value to a 40s bike, I need polished rims.

I have used oven cleaner in past to remove anodisation from handlebars and derail. pivot bolts with sucess. Nasty stuff though!

Regards,
Dave Martinez
