Subject: [CR]Rene Herse Porteurs & Wave of Future (Past)

The Herse reminded me of 50's - 60's era middle-weight multi-speeds bicycles such as the Corvette & Jaguars. Though front and rear lights, front & rear carriers, fenders, saddle bags and such weren't intergrated to the build, my recollection is these components had a unifying style so they would "flow" with the bike design. Schwinn seemed to have a sweet spot for French cycling so, I would not be surprised if these middle weight multi-speeds were their mass-produced, affordable for many, renditions of the refined French builds.

Any one with Schwinn "insider" knowledge?
