Subject: [CR]WTS Cycling Literature

I would like to swap surplus cycling literature. I guess greed just got

the better of me at the Rotterdam Classic Racing Bike Show book stall :-) Note: No EngLang books. Most have nice photos, though.

1) Clicteur/Berghmans. Eddy Merckx. I. Van Libramont tot Heerlen. Uitgeverij "de Schorpioen", Stromberg/NL, 1967. Pbk, 143 pp plus "Erelist"-Annexe. Many b/w pictures. Volume shows signs of use (back),

pp. yellowed. (! 1st vol. only) [Preferred swap: 2nd vol.]

2) Alfrink, B. Fietsen. Uitgeverij Ankh-Hermes, Deventer/NL, 1981, 3rd

printing. Hbk, 192 pp, some b/w pictures, humourous cartoons by C. Alfrink. General introduction on cycling, good condition, missing dustjacket. Frankly, interest value is rather low excepting a handful of b/w Gazelle cycle photos.

3) Nelissen, J. De vedetten van de weg (Dutch: Road racing stars). De Boekerij n.v., Baarn/NL, 1972. Pbk, 185 pp, many b/w pictures. Short biographies of Coppi, Kübler, Koblet, Motta, Verbeeck, Janssen, Merckx, and many others. Volume shows signs of use.

4) Cottaar, J. Finish in Parijs. NRC, Rotterdam; De Standaard, Amsterdam, ca. 1965. Pbk, 244 pp, some b/w pictures. History (in Dutch)

of the TdF. Volume shows signs of use, pp. slightly yellowed.

5) Cottaar, J. De troostprijs is een gele trui. A.W. Bruna & Zoon, Utrecht, ca. 1962. Pbk, 192 pp. Novel (in Dutch) on the TdF. Pp. badly

yellowed. (! no illus.)

6) v. Craen, L. (?), (Het volk over) Eddy Merckx. De Forel, Nieuwendijk/NL, 1969. Pbk, 111 pp, many b/w pictures. Vol. of letters to the Editors of several Dutch newspapers mirroring popular opinion on

Merckx. Shows signs of use. Front cover: Great colour photo of M. in FAEMA garb, riding NR equipped M. cycle.

7) Hamann, W. Von Kanada bis Mexiko. Franz Schneider Verlag, Munich, ca. 1960. Hbk, 144 pp, some line drawings. German language report of H.´s cycle ride round the world. 3rd volume on North America. Front cover: Nice hand coloured photo of H. on his fully-laden 1950s Rixe sports bike. Else, no cycle related illus.
