Subject: [CR]Barn stored Hetchins

Not sure when this subject was first raised but have just read the Peter Naiman/Garth Libre comments on the eBay Hetchins Nulli Secundus. The seller brought it along to the annual bike jumble near Hull, South Yorkshire, last Sunday. It ain't pretty but is quite restorable, provided there is no internal rust. Always a difficult one but from the condition I would imagine it was stored in a dry barn. According to Hilary Stone the stem is quite rare, being an early Cinelli import. Depending on which side of the restore/preserve line you stand, I guess the preserve option is just still open. A good clean, a bit of rust treatment, plenty of fresh grease and away you go. Must go find some old barns..
