Produced supposedly in Italy. They were imported by Jack Van Gent from Colorado into his store...it was a "store marque". Very nicely made, very nice to ride. They are a good bike for quality that you used to be able to buy on closeout from Jack Or actually Jack's daughter Yvonne for only $80 just last year. He brought in 3 lines of bikes at 3 different quality levels. Low was LIbertas, mid was the Flying Dutchman, and then there was the Aquila. At last note, some guy in California bought up the remainder and must have been doing some serious drugs because he was offering them up for ridiculous mega bucks after getting a good package deal on them from the Van Gents. Sorry if the guy who bought them up is on the list but the mark up was about 5-6 times his buying price. This model is not one of the $80 models but appears to be one of the upper ones with the chrome rear stays and chrome headlugs. It would have been one of the better ones and they used some columbus tubing on the upper ones rather than reynolds. Hope this info helps...
