The Legnano that Scott is selling is very nice, with numerous highly sought after components. The dropouts indicate the bike is likely from the post-1951 period. This is further confirmed by the writing appearing on the Paris Roubaix derailleur chain guide. The name Paris Roubaix was added to the chain guide in about May 1950 after Fausto Coppi's win at the PR. Some oldtimers in Italy have told me that they were first only delivered to Bianchi with this marking. The first version with the Paris Roubaix marking also presented the writing in a looped form around the top of the guide. The version seen on Scott's bike was the subsequent version. As Scott mentions in the description, the brakes are not the mod 51 ones that came out in 1951. It is quite unusual that the bike is fitted with the 4 cog freewheel instead of the more common 5 cog one. The fact that the Paris Roubaix worked with a five block was one of the main reasons for gettig the PR over the cambio corsa.
