A third of my collection is a mudguard no-go zone. The British took this

stuff very seriously and you can see in the specs very often "no mudguard clearance" which also meant no mudguard eyelets. And truth to tell, although they have both the clearance and the eyelets, I've never thought of putting 'guards on my PX-10 or Cinelli. Well I would on the latter if I could find those cool Cinelli badged ones! Get a pair of wool plus fours and one of those harlequin pattern sweaters like the photo of Coppi et. al. winter training on the Italian Riveria and all set to go. It's fun to ri de the fast stuff with 'guards since guys think you are easy pickings on the road and are in for a surprise. Even with all that "wind resistence" fro m the mudflap.

By the way, so far the list of commonly used Italian cycling words is limited to "Gruppo" and "Pista". I guess you could add "Strada" if force d. "Campagnolo" doesn't quite count unless you can add Sheffield (pedals) and

that rather loses the point, does it not?
