Now I am really thankful! Thankful to Bob Freitas, Harvey Sachs, Joe B-Z, Paul Haussler and others for their thoughtful response to my question about Phil [disk] brakes - meaning they answered a question that I should have asked but didn't know enough to properly do so: "Are Phil Disk Brakes safe and should I keep them or chuck them for that reason? One can clumsily or naively pose a question to smart people, and knowing what's really important (safety and the history of componentry), the responders can reformulate the question and respond brilliantly and appropriately.

Someone said that the Phil brakes are a work of art and I agree: they're beauties! Per the consensus, hang them on a wall, but not on a bike.

Yes, "In the multitude of counsellors there is safety." Proverbs xi. 14
