Subject: [CR]looking for a particular book - or bibliographic info

Dear Listees,

I hope there are some other CR people who are interested in old bicycling books as much as parts and bikes. I am looking for a particular book that I believe was published @ 1963 by the Huffman Manufacturing Co. (YES - Huffy !) entitled :

" A Handbook on Bicycle Tracks and Cycle Racing"

Many people do not realize that Huffy did make many efforts to support and re-establish ADULT cycling during the "dark ages" between WWII and the early 70"s. This book was a part of those efforts; and was probably published at the behest of old-timers who were convinced that re-invigorating the sporting side of American cycling would be a boon to cycling in general.

I am having a hard time tracking this book/pamphlet down. I was hoping that someone might have this book and at least give me the correct bibliographic information to try and track it down through inter-library loan. I tried the Library of Congress, but no luck there.

I'll try and contact Huffy in Ohio, but with all the red ink they have bleed over the last decade I doubt they have a company historian any longer. But I'll try - who knows ? Any cycling librarians have any suggestions ?

Thanks !
