Subject: [CR]Red drillium Paramount on eBay, alter it?

I'd guess that john barron scored the drillium Paramount, since he wrote about it and asked some questions:

JB: I am not crazy about the looks of, for instance, the black aluminum pivot bolts on the drillium NR rear der, and I'm not crazy about the idea of, and looks of the Cinelli pedals, (even though they have been elegantly modified with Campy ti spindles), etc., etc. I certainly agree with most, but not all of the original owner's taste in outfitting this bike. The bike presumably didn't come this way from the "factory", so you can't say that I'd be messing with it's "originality", or can you? <snip> Was it a "show" bike? If so, I probably shouldn't start replacing black alloy der bolts with original chromed steel ones, right? Maybe I can document, (take pictures of) it as I bought it, and then change things to suit my taste/liking...

HS: John, you've been in this game a long time, and have helped a bunch of us with hard-to-find parts &such. My own opinion is that you should ride it any way you want -- if you save the original parts so you can rebuild to the aura of the original owner's vision for shows and for sale. Just as an example, I've "shown" my wife's mid 70s orphan with its Jubilees and HiE wheels, but when she normally rides it, it goes out with a cyclone GT and wide-range Suntour FW. Just fits her style much better now. To me, one doesn't cross over to the dark side until he does essentially irrevocable changes: braze-ons and the like. By the way, the orphan has a Teledyne Titan BB spindle, which saves just over 1 oz relative to the steel alternative...

JB: The Cinelli M-71 pedals are fitted with Campy SR Ti spindles! HS: I'm the proud owner of two different models of M-71 WidowMaker pedals, one with cleats and shoes. I fully intend to never ride either again. Strictly for show or suicide, as far as I'm concerned, primarily because releasing requires rather different reactions from modern clipless pedals.

So, congrats on the bike, and may she bring you great joy, however you ride her.
