I believe that the levers are one and the same. My recollection is that the "open" type levers superceded the "cog" type about two years later. There was not much overlap, but production dates and catalog listings for Simplex seem to be soft to say the least. Steve Spielman Easton, MD

Help me out here...

It's 1981. Peugeot lists either a Simplex "SLJ retrofriction alloy shifters" or "SLJ5007 'power' levers.

So what's the difference? Are the "power" shifters the retrofriction ones that are "open" i.e. have the big cut-outs??
