I knew Bob Cary when he moved to the States and worked with Steve Aldridge at MDR Bike Shop in Marina Del Rey, California. This was soon after the LA Olympics in 1984 when Bill McCready of Santana Tandems and Bud's Bike Shop bought George Garvey's shop along with Two Wheel Transit in Huntington Beach and Bike World in San Marino.

Fun to talk to him about his racing days and also about when he rode for TI-Raleigh... I was a big fan of that team back in the day.

I remember once I was wearing some white Descente cycling socks that he felt were to long (this was in the mid 1980s). The socks bothered him so much that he made me stand there while he folded down the tops!

Lost track of him after he left the shop for a better paying job...
