In my heyday we rode bicycles with a thick leather glove. Most rod actuated braking systems were not able to stop you unless you threw a boat anchor off of the back of the bike. I used to reach right down onto that spinning rubber tire with my glove to control the braking. It worked real nice. If one was going fast enough, the glovin' would rattle the olfactory senses. Sometimes I could a swore I was smellin' cattle gettin' branded.

Wasn't a girl around who could ride like me and my parters back in the early 30's. Nope. Not one.

That's all done changed now. I think women today could smoke us like a fat cigar.

Do not underestimate the power of the female. My friend once told me: "Men and women--they's all the same; only difference is the plumbing." Ain't that the truth!

Drinkin' Christmas brandy by the fire,
