Rod,

I have no experience with it, but you might want to try Cyanopoxy to repair the derailleur, although technically you can probably buy another derailleur for less money. Google it and see, after reading about it I'm planning on getting some just to fix the myriad of things that seem to defy repair around the house and shop...
