Subject: [CR]SoCal Baldy Ride: Last Call!

Hey everybody. Last call to SoCal CR denizens for tomorrow's ride up to Mt. Baldy Village.

The crew for the ride has filled out nicely. Chris Kostman will be riding with us! He turned me on to this ride! You really should come if you possibly can.

It's been suggested that we eat up in Baldy Village. I'm open to that. We can decide when we get there whether we eat there, or down in Claremont, or closer to the starting point.

The current crew includes:

Jack Bissell Charles Andrews Chuck Schmidt Matt Gorski Joe Decruyenaere and friend Sterling Peters Brian Baylis Chris Kostman and Laurie Davis Jensen Scott Smith John and Stacy Morrison Will Handsfield

The ride starts this Sunday morning at Pioneer Park in Azusa, on the corner of Sierra Madre and Dalton. Mapquest will show the way. The ride will leave as close to 10am as we can manage. It's pretty much an all-day affair. We'll ride up to Baldy Village, then straight down Baldy Road. We'll have a late lunch in Claremont. The entire ride is about 50 miles, or a little under, 22 miles of climbing up to the Village, a long down-hill, and otherwise flat.

Note that initial climb up Glendora Mountain Road is a bit of a grind, but after that, the climb consists of a series of long switchbacks at a slight grade, with beautiful scenery all around.

And if you're worried about being left behind, don't. I'll be behind you, trust me. <g> Also, we will regroup a few times along the way for photos and socializing..

Weather forecast is for partly cloudy, cool weather, but no rain.

See you there!

Charles Andrews SoCal
