Simplex exhibited at the Paris Cycle Show in the spring of 1989; they continued to make a few derailleurs for a year or so after that... The Foret one of Joe's dates from 1989-90 so off topic but what a shame that Simplex did not have the economic clout to take on Shimano for their indexed derailleurs probably shifted really well.
