Congratulations on your find...the bike must be a great understated mean machine.
You are lucky to have found a bike with real provenance..that aspect will add an immense meaning to the bike...personalise it a sense.
Last year I was lucky to get my hands on a 1936 Alcyon Tour de France ex-Pro bike...ridden in the Tour. It's 100% original except for the saddle..warts and all - but I haven't a clue who rode it..so while it's just great having the bike, it would be even better to picture the former team-man on it. It just lacks that extra meaning somehow
