Kurt Geiger, As I mentioned in a previous post, Frame Saver is a petroleum based product. Linseed oil is a by product of the flax plant that grows in the dirt,,,, if you think they smell the same thats fine. If you feel like using a less effective product inside your frame thats fine too. If spending $ 3 to 4 dollars per application of Frame Saver is too much for anyone's wallet, or their vintage steel frame, may I suggest used motor oil, it may prove to be the least expensive goo you can find. Effective? I have no idea, does it smell the same as linseed oil? I have no idea. But Kurt, your the expert here, go for it.

This list can be, and usually is, a wealth of useful information. The comment "smells just like it. Hmmm..." offers no useful information, only confusion.
