In the early to mid 80s I discovered much to my alarm that my favorite ride, a Pogliaghi, had a deepening and uniform coating of rust inside all the tubes. This bike had NEVER been ridden wet and had been WD40ed to the max.! I subsequently was told in secret by one of the mechanics at my favorite shop, where I had purchased the frameset new, that the Rossins and the Rossin built Pogs were all rusting out from the inside and that they had not been properly treated after extensive chroming. He reported seeing a chainstay broken in the middle that, when investigated, was found to have rusted in half! I guess the moral is : if you want a Pog, buy one made by Sante before he sold his name to Rossin (if you can find and/ or afford it). If you want a Rossin, buy a Basso! MY opinion only!!
