The "westminster" swap meet will be held Sunday Feb 5, at the ag center just South of Westminster, MD, which is just South of the PA line. It is a great swap, or at least good enough to be a great stand-in until Cirque. Details at http://www.stopswapandsave.com.

This year, to assure that all the vintage folk who want to be in the same area can be together, Larry Black (Mt. Airy Bikes) has already reserved a big chunk of space, tables, etc. I've agreed to coordinate registration (it's easier to reach me than Larry most evenings). If you let me know you want space(s) you're liable for the $30/space. Snow date is a week later.

I can see the scene now: all the vintage nuts reserve table space, get in early, and all go running around chasing each others goodies before the show opens. When it opens, unnamed members, conscious of the need for proper and adequate lubrication, make sure that some is at hand. After all, the business of the day was closed out before the show opened... As usual.

Of course, not all the eye candy you bring along has to be for sale... some might just be neat stuff you think others will enjoy.

If you want to be in the vintage area with the rest of us, but probably with more space than the std. 4' x 8', just let me know ASAP. The cost will be the same $30 as for the regular registration. Whether you do registration with us or through their site, they still hit you for $5/head for entry on registration day, so that washes out.

FWIW, the meet will be in a new building, which may not have all of the charm (dark, hot-and-cold, mud outside, but cheap food) of the old facility. We usually have a pretty good turn-out of CR folks. Some years, I've found some really neat stuff there, brought by others just getting rid of vintage stuff. One year it was a stack of track cogs; another time I came home with a complete PowerCam crank set. No, I don't know why. :-)

The site claims there will be >300 vendors. I'd be surprised if 20 of us are vintage-focused, but there is other stuff scattered about. Lots of private sellers with useful stuff, And lots of close-out stuff from lots of shops.

Please write if there are any questions.
