Subject: [CR]FS: 56cm Tommasini SLX Super Prestige frame, fork and extras

This Tommasini SLX Super Prestige frame measures 56cm from the center of the bottom bracket to the top of the top tube with a 55.5cm top tube. The frame tubing is the legendary Columbus SLX with chromed rear chain stays and seat stays. The Tommasini "T" is pantographed in the headtube lugs, brake bridge, top of the seat stays, top of the bottom bracket shell, and fork crown.

The bike, according to Bill Lewis who used to be the exclusive Tommasini distributor in the US, is painted in a Oro Nero (black, gold, and silver) paint scheme. You have to see the bike in person to appreciate the artistry in the paint scheme. It is truly unique and will draw attention and admiration even from non-cyclists.

I bought one of the last new and rare never used Tommasini chromed steel 1" threaded forks from the former U.S. Tommasini distributor for this frame. I recently spoke with the current U.S. Tommasini distributor and he told me the threaded Tommasini forks are no longer available. The only option now is to get a threadless one and have it threaded by a bike shop. He told me the last original 1" threaded Tommasini chromed forks he could get were $350, and even his compromise of threading a threadless Tommasini fork is now $320!

The rear brake cable is routed internally through the top tube, there is a braze-on front derailleur tab and downtube shifter bosses, a pump peg, and two sets of water bottle bosses. The headtube measures 133mm with a 1" threaded steerer on the chromed fork. The rear dropouts are horizontal (no dropout screws included, I never use them) and measure 128mm wide.

I bought this bike from the original owner with less than 250 miles on it. In two years, I have put less than 1000 more miles on it. This bike has been lightly ridden, never crashed or ridden in the rain, garage stored, and was fanatically maintained by me. It was my show bike and I treated it as such. The condition of the bike is excellent and the appearance of the bike is spectacular. The paint is vibrant, and the chrome on the stays and fork is shiny and bright. The frame and fork have been completely treated inside the tubes with Boeshield T-9 rust prevention spray.

Extras include an installed Shimano Ultegra headset, two matching Elite bottle cages, and a VHS tape (albeit not real great quality) of what appears to be William Lewis (former exclusive importer of Tommasini's into the US) filming a tour of the Tommasini factory while a frame is being built.

$750 including the frame, fork, Shimano Ultegra headset, bottle cages, and VHS tape professionally packed, shipped, and insured to the lower 48 United States.

Lots of pictures available for the asking.

Thanks and have a safe and Happy New Year!
