Subject: [CR]Dating a Hobbs Blue Riband

Greetings, I have recently come across a Hobbs Blue Riband, acquired from the original owner who says it was built in 1952. The serial number is X2101. A very large jpeg is here: http://jellybellycycling.com/hobbsblueriband.jpg. Any help with dating for certain would be much appreciated.

Details that I know for sure: 40 spoke rear wheel, stamped "Well" on the hub, flip-flop, inch pitch, serrations on rim, tied and soldered spokes; front is same but 32 spokes. Tires not original. One old Brooks toe strap. Brooks seat. Alloy bars and seatpost. Christophe Toe Clips. Chrome in decent shape with a few bubbles and chips. No headbadge but a decal, downtube and seattube decals are a bit worn.

The original owner was fitted by a man named Jimmy Beres, a Hungarian immigrant who owned a bike shop in Akron, OH. Jimmy and the owner both participated in the 1950 Nationals in Columbus, OH (Franklin Park), unfortunately on a different bike.

Thanks for any and all help.
