Paul,

I remember it quite vividly. The year I purchased my Fuji Finest, it was chrome and white. The Fuji Newest had silver paint, red cloth handlebar tape and Campy NR brakes, cranks and derailluers. The model year had to be 1971-1972. I paid about $350 for my bike and the Newe st retailed for about $500. In fact the guy who I bought the bike fro m was Al Givens who lived in Syosset, LI. Maybe Jamie Swan knows of h im. Al gave the bike shop business a bit of a go and opened up a shop in Roslyn Heights however he had a day job and the shop only lasted about a year.

The catalog of that model year also had the Fuji Newest spec'd with Campy N uovo Record.
