What I would like to know is: what bike did he ride in his 1981 team, Boston-Mavic? Who made those bikes?

Give that man a cigar!! I believe Bicycling! soon after had a article on his TDF-winning bike complete with photos. The Torelli website states that Cyril Guimard was the durecteur sportif in 1976, and he and Van Impe didn't get along, so Van Impe went to another team the next year. I believe Van Impe's stint at LeJeune was before Gitane. If so, where did he go after leaving Gitane?
