Now I get to send one of these! I am leaving for Italy this Saturday. So any shops worth a visit in MILAN? (Yes I am going to see MASI) Does DETTO still have a shop? any others? We will spend a few days on Lake COMO ( Yes I am riding to GHISALLO) and I know there is at least one shop on the list to visit there. Then we will travel down to Tuscany so I can give the L'EROICA a try with the last few days near FIRENZE (or Florence as I thought it was called) Again any tips would be appreciated.

Lucky duck, Bob! I visited Rossignoli in Milan, it was within city limits and farly easy to get to by local transit. The friendly old codger shopkeeper was very tolerant of my pidgen Italian and showed me all the offerings in his shop, even though I only spent small Liri on small parts. I remember being given directions to something that the tourist info helper said was "Cinelli" but she wasn't really sure about it. That was out near Monza (famous racetrack) and a little too distant and time-consuming for us to travel at the time.Still don't know what it might have been... I recall seeing a club ride of British bike fanantics all decked out in vintage wool outfits and riding what looked to me at the time like hopelessly antique old black-painted bikes over an old cobble-stone paved street...very eccentric in hyper-modern Milan, I thought. OT: but while in Lake Como you could take a trip to the Moto Guzzi factory in Mandello del Lario...I would.
Buon Viaggio!
