I would be VERY interested to know a lot more about the old system of sub-contract builders who supplied frames to the "big names" like Masi and Colnago. That stuff goes back to the 60's at least, so you may have to look for some very old retired framebuilders.

To bring everyone up-to-date: my wife and I moved to Verona, Italy, in
August. We have our internet connection now and I have reactivated myself
back to the list.
I'd like to capture some of the history of framebuilders in the Veneto as
the opportunities present themselves. I'd like your input on what kind of
questions you would like answers to. My thought is to put these into a
template and ask the same questions of all the builders.
