FYI, most repaint on bicycles involve completely stripping old paint and starting from scratch, unlike automobile paint jobs which almost never start with fresh bare metal. So one will not see more that one color on a repaint bike, as a rule.

I am probably wrong, but I think its been re-painted. I don't think Masi's at that time came with such heavy paint, I have seen a few from that era, my own included. There also appears to be issues under the paint on the head tube, maybe its the camera.
