That may be a "Vittoria", if you want to call it that, but most people know it as an Italvega, and I know it as a TORPADO! (I like Torpados)

I don't know whether to kiss Karen, or curse at her ... I'm sooo jealous. Of course, I'll send her hugs. This is the Italvega Superlight model that came out in 1973 with a milled & drilled Campy Nuovo Record gruppo. It was also sold as a Super Speciale with all the same drillings and cuttings in the frame, but with a standard NR gruppo. I've been waiting for one ... exactly in my size BTW ... to come along for some time. At least I know that if Karen ever gets tired of it, she will give first dibs to her good ole' buddy Mark! At least I can hope. :)

It is interesting that two new "V" bicycles show up today! This morning, listmember Jonathan Greene sent me the Vittoria above. I didn't have either the Vittoria or the Vigorelli in the Used Bike Buyers Guide. And, the Bird-Bourne discussion from the English brethren has been good too. I've got three Bird makers in the guide, Alec, Ken and Pete. My information says that Ken Bird didn't make frames but decaled the ones made by Bill Philbrook. Since I have no idea where Bourne, the town, is located, I can't comment whether the Bird-Bourne might have been from one of these Bird's nest. Lou Deeter, Orlando FL
