Subject: [CR]Suntour is Superbe

I have three Suntour bikes. Two are Suntour Cyclone, and one is Suntour Superbe. Some may know that Superbe is heavier in the derailleur department but more durable. It seems that both Cyclone and Superbe are about as good as one could want in the shifting and braking areas. The hubs are sweet too, in all their iterations. I would love to have the illusive Superbe seat post but that part seemed to be rarely speced, even for people who swore by Superbe for every other use. Suntour made a much better freewheel than Regina too. The finest action brake levers are Dura Ace (early mid 80's) IMHO. The prettiest hubs are Campy. The best friction shifting levers are those Retro friction or mid 80's Campy 83-87. The 1983 Suntour Superbe Tech rear derailleur only lasted me a year before it gave up the ghost, and this marks the pinacle of best looking-worst execution design for Suntour, and a milepost in the beginning of the end.
