Happy New Year to all-

I recently purchased a '50s Girardengo frame and fork. The seller kindly threw in the original crankset. It is identical to a Magistroni crankset that I have, but without the Magistroni stamp. The bike frame has a 4 digit serial number boldly stamped on the non-drive side bottom bracket shell. The serial number is also boldly stamped on one of the crank arms. Any other examples out there of the bicycle serial number being stamped on the cranks? Common for '50s Italian?
