The metal the chrome went over must have had some impact on the chroming process.And I don't mean how well it was cleaned but rather the quality of the metal it'self.The best chrome is always found on the hardest most well made parts--like the old hubs,headsets,and sprockets that were turned or machined not pressed. sam lingo,pleasanton tx
