True, while vigorous physical activity certainly promotes cardiovascular health, it is not an ironclad guarantee. My greatest personal sports hero, Arthur Ashe, had his distinguished career effectively ended by heart problems (he died of AIDS contracted from a tainted blood transfusion during heart surgery). When asked how a person of his relative youth and great athletic activity contracted heart disease, he said he figured he just "inherited bad pipes". His father had also died young of heart disease, I believe.

I'd like to take the time to thank Mr. Pham for postin' the Confente scans. I learned a heck of a lot about that ol' boy thanks to Mr. Pham.

I am stunned that Mr. Confente died of a heart attack at age 34. I thought if you were racin' a bicycle that your cholesteral would be under control and that yer heart would be pumpin' like a couple o' newly-weds come their honeymoon.
