Thought these items might be of interest to Mid West CR Folks. A good contingent of CR posters and lurkers from Ohio and Indiana usually attend the CIBA (local bike club) swap. Hope some of you that may not have attended before will consider it. We can plan on getting dinner afterward, or if the weather gives us a break, get in a classic ride. E-mail me off list if you want to attend any of these events, and we'll get together.

http://www.cibaride.org/weekend/weekend.html Scroll down till you get to "Valentines Day Ride and Swap Meet". Feb. 12. Noon. Tables are cheap if you have anything to sell.

CIBA has a Winter Lecture Series and on Feb. 15 is hosting a visit from the one and only Sheldon Brown! He packed the room last year, so it's cool to have him agree to return to India-no-place. http://www.cibaride.org/PDF_files/2006%20Lecture%20Series%20Flyer%20.pdf

The Hoosier Antique and Classic Bicycle Club hosts their Winter Swap on Feb. 4. This is mostly a ballooner and 'muscle' bike group. but there is a smattering of mid-and light weight 'on-topic' bikes and parts represented. Also a good source to find help and vendors for restoration work. http://hoosierbicycles.homestead.com/swapmeet.html

Are there other events around the US of A coming up we need to know about?

The Madison, Wis. swap is January 14th. (I get to drive to there on Friday the 13th!). I'm biased, but I think it's a fabulous swap meet. A little brisk sometimes, though: like -10 degrees F, perhaps! (Fortunately, it's only that cold outdoors...). For details, go to http://www.cronometro.com Two years ago, someone in my group dropped a heavily-loaded Rubbermaid tote on the way into the swap, and it shattered into hundreds of pieces - yikes! That's cold! Greg Parker Ann Arbor, Michigan
