I thought I would share this with the list members. I posed this question to Cinelli a few weeks ago and got an answer back today.

Dear Dan,

The 1R stem was manufactured at that time. The logo changed from “Cinelli” to the “flying C” in 1977/1978.

Regarding the different logos on the various handlebars, this is a very difficult question, but basically we moved from the old heraldic logo to the winged one step by step from 1978 to 1981.

Best regards

Patrizia

Hello Patrizia,

I was looking for a timeline showing the introduction and lenght of production runs for Cinelli products. I am restoring a classic bike, as are many hundreds of others, and it is very helpful to know the dates products were manufactured so that we can have the correct parts on our bikes.

For example, my bike is from 1981 and I need to know if the 1R stem was manufactured at that time, or you had already stopped making it then, and when the logo went from the basic "Cinelli" to the "flying C". And also, what year the different logo's were used on the handlebars.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sincerely,

Dan DiMaria
