I hesitate to say this, for fear of the flaming rebuttal I'm likely to be bringing down upon my head, but that "7" in the seatlug sure looks like it COULD be the "E" as pantoed into the neo-Mexico chainring on the hour bike as depicted by Rebour and the photo in Vol. 3, No. 2 of VBQ in the story on the bike Eddy rode. NB: I am not suggesting this corroborates the story the seller of the bike is telling, merely making an observation based on Angel's question.
