Ray Green mentions a repeal of the law banning builders or shop names on
frames in RTTC events. I would be interested in learning the exact date or
at least the year. The reason being the introduction of the block lettering
transfers on, particularly A.S.Gillott. I have always understood it to be
1963 coinciding with the takeover of that company by Edwardes of Camberwell.
I would like to know if it is a coincidence or Edwardes taking advantage of
the repeal to increase their advertising potential.
Can anyone think of any other British builders that had a change of
transfer from script to block at this time? Mal Rees perhaps?
