Dear Norris, Sorry for posting this way but other listers will also be interested in the explanation. About three nights ago I had an email turn up asking for help in identifying a mystery frame which was not a Hetchins. I automatically assumed that this was posted to all the CR list members and after your recent posting asking about the pictures etc this appears not to be the case. I apologise for this misconception. Whoever this email was sent to and there were numerous addressee's involved has replied that the frame in question appears to have been identified as a Carlton International of uncertain manufacturing date. I was not so certain of its pedigree and posted that it could have been something else but added the proviso that the frames number would ascertain for certain if it was indeed a Carlton. I have since posted the little I know about Carlton's frame numbering system in the hope that this will either prove or disprove the make. I have not heard form the requester if it was a Carlton so its still a mystery to me. If you email me I will gladly provide pictures and I am certain that your expert and knowledgeable eyes will be able to identify for certain. It looks very much like a Carlton International but there were a hell of a lot of look a likes made especially in the more ornate lugged frames Hetchins, Ephgraves, Gillott F de L and Purves's so I am not positive until it has been tied up with a Carlton number. Once again sorry for replying like this but I don't have your email address on file but get in touch so I can send you the pictures.

Thats all for now. Keep those wheels spinning, in your memories if not still on the road. Be lucky Mick Butler Huntingdon UK.
