This has been covered really well already. The book Six days of Madness has something about the Pye manufacturing process etc. Ernie Pye won the Buffalo Six with Jackie Clarke in 1911. Jackie was an Aussie and one of the greatest. Made his names in the States where he won all types of events. Beat a few of the top Europeans on their home tracks as well. Was the crowds favourite at Newark Americas Mecca of cycling back then. 1909 N.York (Walter Rutt) 1910 Berlin (Walter Rutt) 1911 N.York (Joe Fogler) 1911 Buffalo (Ernie Pye) 1913 Berlin (Fred Hill) But never rode a Masi (only joking) Best wishes and be lucky Mick. Been in the Meon Valley today looking at the river, thatched cottages that Frank Patterson sketched all those years ago, wonderful.

Thats all for now. Keep those wheels spinning, in your memories if not still on the road. Be lucky Mick Butler Huntingdon UK.
