Sarah's query about replacement "Imichrome" decals or stickers for the Gitane TdF begs the question: can these indeed be readily reproduced by th e usual sources i.e. Lloyds, CycleArt and the other frame restorers?
I ask because they are a pain being very easy to marr and crinkle and they
fade more than regular decals. And they were very common in the 1960s/70 s not just with Gitane but with Carlton, Falcon and others. Imichrome was actually a licensed product (UK). Now you could, I guess, cheat and have
regular decals made that looked sorta like these but it would not be the same of course and I just wondered if the capacity exists to duplicate these. Not that I'll ever find my desired 1969 Carlton Professional in lagoon blue and white in a 24" frame. Oh and with the original Carlton t eam jersey and cap to go with it, please.
